Welcome to KANGAROO DIVERS, a company started in November 2023 being operated by local Kenyans. It is based at Mariposa Residence in Malindi and Watamu Adventist Beach Resort.
Herbert K. Tsofwa and Jairus Munga are experienced diving instructors who own the company heading a small team of staffs who have the passion of the ocean at heart.
Whether you have never discovered the world beneath the waves before or you are a seasonal and experienced diver looking to explore the tranquility and captivating beautiful reefs full of marine life, our expert PADI instructors, dive masters and the entire team is here to make your SCUBA diving enjoyable and memorable.

Our Courses
We offer PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) courses from beginner to professional level. A short duration of 2 – 3 days, you can earn an internationally recognized SCUBA certificate.

Knowledgeable guides, super fun crew and lots of patience. We even made two extra stops to see the turtles (and looooots of them!) and amazing coral that blossomed like flowers. Also everybody was concerned with our safety, plus we had a stop to enjoy fresh fruit and delicious tea on a paradise like sandbank. All in all, the perfect under water experience. Vom ersten Moment an habe ich mich willkommen und bestens aufgehoben gefühlt. Das Team ist nicht nur professionell und fachgerecht ausgebildet, sondern insbesondere auch unglaublich herzlich und engagiert. Die Briefings sind klar und strukturiert, die Sicherheit steht immer an erster Stelle – ohne dabei das Gefühl von Abenteuer zu verlieren. Besonders erwähnenswert sind neben den individuellen Fotos auch die Pausen an der Oberfläche auf dem Boot "Chocolate", wo leckere Früchte und Tee serviert werden. Die Unterwasserwelt am Indischen Ozean in Malindi ist sehr vielfältig – farbenfrohe Korallenriffe, Mantas, Schildkröten und vieles mehr! Und das Beste: Die Spots sind nie überlaufen, man hat oft das Gefühl, die Wunder der Tiefe ganz für sich allein zu haben (habe in 22 Tauchgängen 2 mal andere Taucher gesichtet). Ein großes Dankeschön an das gesamte Team – ihr habt dieses Abenteuer zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis gemacht! Fazit: Wer auf der Suche nach einer authentischen, liebevoll geführten Tauchbasis abseits des Massentourismus ist, wird hier mehr als fündig. The team is not only professional and expertly trained, but also incredibly warm and dedicated. The briefings are clear and structured, and safety always comes first – without losing the feeling of adventure. In addition to the individual photos, the breaks on the surface on the boat “Chocolate,” where delicious fruit and tea are served, are particularly noteworthy. The underwater world of the Indian Ocean in Malindi is very diverse – colorful coral reefs, manta rays, turtles, and much more! And best of all, the spots are never overcrowded, so you often feel like you have the wonders of the deep all to yourself (I saw other divers twice in 22 dives). A big thank you to the entire team – you made this trip an unforgettable experience! We had an amazing time with Herbert from Kangaroo Divers. Even though it was off season, it was still possible to organize dives or in our case: Snorkeling around the coral reef. Herbert and the captain were always highly professional, willing to answer any question and made every one of our wishes possible. Since we did snorkeling, I cannot comment on the diving part but the equipment looked good and all the guides are certified instructors. Let me tell you, Kangaroo Divers is the scuba diving shop that you want to go with - weather it's a certification or just a fun dive, they have you covered along Kenya's coast from Malindi to Watamu. Jairus and Herbert are diving professionals who know their stuff, but keep the dives light and fun. No pressure at all if you have four dives or 400 - they know the waters and will selext, depending on weather and water conditions, that provide the best opportunity to see some cool stuff. I was staying at a resort without a car and was concerned about reaching the meeting point, but Jairus hsppily picked me up from my accommodations so that I could dive. I enjoyed myself so much, that a couple days later, I decided to dive again with Kangaroo Divers. Such a positive experience for both my refresher dive and then 2 dives in Watamu Marine Park. Great energy, patience and fantastic, new equipment.
